Hello, I’m Anirban!

I work as a Senior UX Designer at YouTube. Here I strive to make video creation a little more intuitive and fun for our 2.5B users worldwide. I come with a background in Visual Communication Design and Media Studies, which taught me to care deeply about how things look, feel, and work.

Previously, I worked at Samsung, ThoughtWorks, Contentful and Cognizant — collecting industries along the way like Pokémon cards. In these companies, my experience spanned both enterprise systems and consumer products — from scrappy, localised solutions for emerging smartphone markets in India and South Asia, to digital transformation gigs for top luxury fashion brands whose legacy systems were slowing them down, to simplifying the complex ecosystems of content management. The goal has always been the same: make things usable and useful. And wherever possible, even a little delightful.

Over these years, I’ve combined creativity and craftsmanship as a design professional. Alongside, I’ve also mentored junior designers and fostered an environment of great collaboration in my teams. Because, at the end of the day, large-scale, impactful solutions come from teams that work well together.

Outside of work, I draw and write. A large body of my personal work revolves around LGBTQIA+ and women’s rights. I care about creating a more inclusive, equitable world. And, I believe design and the people behind it, have a role to play in getting us there.
